TEDx Talk

Welcome, and thank you for visiting.

On April 4, 2026, Andy will speak at TEDxBoston University(BU) about worth, danger, and love.

What Murder Taught Me About Love:
The Neuroscience of Remembering Our Worth

Andy will be sharing what first drew him into this work, both personally and professionally, as a neuropsychologist working with individuals in the legal system charged with violent crimes.

When the official TEDxBU talk is released on YouTube, it will be posted here on this page.

Why this talk matters

This talk grew out of a moment that deeply changed Andy.

While working with a man who had committed murder, Andy noticed something startling: the story running in that man’s mind was not entirely different from one that had quietly lived in his own.

That moment opened a deeper inquiry into worth, fear, and the patterns the nervous system learns in order to survive. It became the beginning of the Worthiness Project.

How do we define our worth

At the Worthiness Project, worth does not mean self-esteem or self confidence

We are speaking about a deeper, inherent sense of safety, belonging, and okayness that is not dependent on performance, circumstances, or the opinions of others.

When we feel connected to worth, the body often softens into greater safety, connection, and steadiness.

When we lose access to that felt sense of worth, the nervous system can shift into protection, through striving, shutdown, or fight, flight, or freeze.
